glass lantern slide

Glass lantern slide showing George Cunningham looking at a school dentist, Mr Gant, and child patient in a surgery. There is a dental nurse, named Rose, to the left of the shot.

George Cunningham was a pioneer in school dental health services and a great campaigner for better oral health education in Great Britain. He established the first school dental clinic at Cambridge. Cunningham presented a series of slides, including this one, to the Eastern Counties branch of the BDA in 1926.
