W.R. Tattersall's BDA Past President medal. The gold medal is hung on a red ribbon and stored in a leather covered, velvet lined case.

The first President of the BDA was Sir John Tomes in 1880. The President of the BDA is the most senior member of the Association. Presidents hold the post for a year and are elected at the Annual General Meeting. The President represents the Association at appropriate meetings and events.
