glass lantern slide

1/4 plate glass lantern slide of an unidentified man and woman (possibly husband and wife) making dental tools or prosthetics in a dental workshop, c.1900.

The BDA Museum believes this is one of the earliest photographs of dental technicians at work. It is not known whether the people in the photograph are husband and wife but there are reports of couples working together both as dentists and technicians.

glass; length 80 mm; width 80 mm
